COMMON QUESTIONS
Will my lens caps work on these ultra-slim filters?
Yes! Every circular screw on X1, X2 and X4 filter is double-threaded, so they’re fully compatible with other filters and all your lens caps.
Do UV filters actually block UV light on digital cameras?
No. In fact, digital cameras block IR and UV light at the sensor level. Therefore, a UV filter is only used for completing the weather-sealing on a lens, as recommended by the lens manufacturers.
But if you did happen to shoot color film somewhere down the line (and you should at least try film once!) the UV blocking characteristics will come into play and will remove the UV haze effect that is present in 35mm color film.
Where are you based?
San Francisco, California.
Are you one of only two US-based filter companies?
Yes. We’re based here in the states alongside only one other US-based filter company, Singh-Ray, the makers of state-of-the-art Graduated Neutral Density filters.
In addition to being based in the USA we’re working on manufacturing a line of all-American products, including an upcoming filter 100% made in the state of New York.
Is there any vignetting on your filters?
No! We have designed the X1, X2 and X4 filter lines to have no vignetting down to 15mm on a full-frame setup.
What sizes are the X-Series filters available in?
49mm, 52mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm and 82mm
